STEPCONCEPT – Key dates

  • 1994
    Mr Jean-Luc MARTINEAU, company founder, sets up business in the department of Loire Atlantique to manufacture and market vehicle steps.
  • 1996
    Company obtains export market share (UK and Spain) and establishes a facility near Les Sables d’Olonne.
  • 2001
    First major contract with Gruau to supply vehicle steps for the 9-16 seat Renault minibus.
  • 2002
    Mr Martineau and Mr Garrot join forces to create STEPCONCEPT. Establishment of a second facility in Mayenne to manufacture folding ramps.
  • 2005
    STEP CONCEPT receives the 2005 Gazelle Award from French Minister Renaud Dutreil.
  • 2008
    Transfer of the manufacture of vehicle steps to Mayenne on Mr Martineau’s retirement.
  • 2009
    Company awarded third place in the 2009 Stars & Métiers Award.
  • 2015
    Surface area of the production facility doubled to meet demand.
  • 2018
    Mr Olivier ANET takes over the management of the company on Mr Garrot’s retirement.
